Man flown to hospital after snake attack in North Yorkshire

A man has been seriously hurt after being attacked by an adder in North Yorkshire.

The snake bit the man three times in Dalby Forest.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service said that the 44-year-old was treated at the scene by a rapid-response paramedic and an off-duty paramedic. A trauma team then arrived, led by a doctor.

After they managed to stabilise the man, who is from Doncaster, he was flown to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

He is said to be in a serious but stable condition.
