The A1(M) northbound between junction 48 at Boroughbridge and junction 49 at Dishforth has now reopened, following a serious collision.
The crash, involving two HGVs, happened around 5am this morning. Emergency services have been working at the scene, forcing them to close the road throughout the morning.
There is still around 5 to 6 miles of stationary traffic northbound towards J48, which may take some time to disperse.
