Shop worker Andrea Rose has been called brave by a judge after fending off a man armed with a knife in a shop in Middlesbrough.
Andrew Martin from Northfleet Avenue in Brambles Farm went into the Premier store on Longlands Road on October 7 last year and demanded cigarettes and cash. Despite being threatened with a knife shop worker Andrea Rose chased him out of the store and he left empty-handed. She even managed to take a photograph of him which helped police identify Martin.
Martin admitted attempted robbery, having a bladed article and failing to surrender to bail. He has been jailed three years and four months.
