Soldiers' bodies come home

The plane carrying the bodies of six soldiers killed in Afghanistan a fortnight ago has landed at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. The servicemen were on patrol in Helmand province when a bomb under their Warrior vehicle exploded.

Corporal Jake Hartley leaves RAF Brize Norton

The body of Corporal Jake Hartley, 20, of 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment has left RAF Brize Norton. Lieutenant Colonel Zac Stenning, Commanding Officer of his battalion, said:

"Corporal Jake Hartley was the ultimate infantry soldier and naturally stood out from his peers. Fit, motivated, yet always understated, he was one of the best ... He was a natural leader as exemplified by his top position on the gruelling Infantry Section Commanders Battle Course."
