Care Quality Commission: A 'prompt response is important' for children's disability services

Sue McMillan, Head of Operational Improvement of the Care Quality Commission has said that the report on services for disabled children was 'significant', in order for commissioners to 'benchmark themselves' against others.

Disabled children's wait for care

Disabled children and their families sometimes wait for up to a year for aids such as wheelchairs, a social care watchdog review has found. The Care Quality Commission found the national average wait for powered wheelchairs is three months.
