Annan's six-point plan for Syria

Kofi Annan says his six-point plan, accepted by Syria, will deal with:

Accommodating political discussions in Syria;

Withdrawal of heavy weapons and troops from population centres;

Allowing humanitarian assistance into affected areas;

Freedom of movement;

Access for journalists.


Annan: Syria accepts peace plan

Syria has accepted the UN-Arab League peace plan, according to the envoy to the country Kofi Annan. The Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has visited the former rebel stronghold of Baba Amr.
