Rory McIlroy's chances of winning this year's Masters took a hammer blow as he suffered a collapse, almost as bad as last year's on a dramatic day in Augusta.

McIlroy shot a 5 over-par 77, which included two double bogeys and two bogeys on the front nine.

From joint third overnight and only one off the lead, he finished the day tied in 27th, ten shots off the lead going into the final round.
