Virgin statement on emergency landing

Virgin has released this statement regarding one of its planes that was forced to make an emergency landing at Gatwick airport today:

Virgin Atlantic confirms that the VS27 flying from Gatwick to Orlando on Monday 16th April has returned to Gatwick

Due to a technical problem on board the aircraft, the captain decided as a precautionary measure to immediately evacuate the aircraft.

Our teams at Gatwick are now looking after our passengers and assisting with their immediate requirements.

Injuries after Gatwick landing

All flights in and out of Gatwick were suspended earlier after a plane made an emergency landing following a technical fault. Runways have since reopened but passengers should expect 'knock-on disruptions'. 15 people have been treated in hospital.
