Harriet Harman MP, the shadow culture, media and sport secretary, has called for the resignation of her government counter-part Jeremy Hunt MP, after evidence heard at the Leveson Inquiry appeared to show his support for News Corp's bid for BSkyB.
During evidence from James Murdoch, the inquiry discussed News Corp emails that appeared to show Mr Hunt had privately expressed support.
Mr Hunt said he had "conducted this process with scrupulous fairness" and has asked Lord Justice Leveson to bring forward his appearance at the inquiry. Mr Hunt had been due to give evidence along with other politicians, including the prime minister, in May.
