'Excellent' police work led to Allen arrest

Temporary Detective Chief Superintendent Gordon Lang has praised the "excellent" police work by an off-duty officer who spotted double murder suspect James Allen in South Leeds.

Mr Lang added that the officer was in a car, observed Allen "for minutes" before calling in help.

James Allen arrested

James Allen, who is suspected of killing Colin Dunford and Julie Davison in their own homes, was arrested on Sunday. The 36-year-old was arrested in south Leeds and is being held on suspicion of murder in connection with the deaths.
