Bionic runner finishes marathon

A paralysed woman in a bionic suit has completed the London Marathon after 16 days of walking. Celebrities from have backed a campaign calling for Claire Lomas to be given a medal for completing the course.

Paralysed London Marathon woman reaches Canary Wharf

Lewis Vaughan Jones caught up with Claire Lomas, the paralysed woman who is walking the London Marathon, as she passed Canary Wharf, over halfway through the course. Ms Lomas is completing the marathon using a bionic suit.

An extremely talented event rider, she had a freak accident while competing at Osberton Horse Trials in Nottinghamshire in May 2007. See more on Ms Lomas's story on the ITV Central website.
