The Queen came face-to-face with a rhinoceros today as her Diamond Jubilee tour continued. The encounter came as the monarch was making her first visit to Chester Zoo in Cheshire. The two rhinos were resting on some hay, as they greeted the Queen.
She was accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh as part of their visit to the North West, which began in Lancashire on Wednesday.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are to join the Queen on her royal barge during the River Thames pageant celebrating the Diamond Jubilee.
The banner that will adorn the royal barge has been unveiled along with other details of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
