Olympic torch heads through North Wales

Carwen Richards was the first Olympic torchbearer of the day, as the torch made its way northwards through Wales.

The teenager carried the torch up the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway.

She was nominated by Ceredigion County Council for her work as a Youth Sports Ambassador.

Olympic flame rides the Tube

The Olympic flame has taken the Tube as it continues its week-long journey through the capital. A total of 144 torchbearers, including rower James Cracknell and skier Chemmy Alcott, carried the flame 43 miles across London.
