Italy's state broadcaster RAI is reporting that dozens of ambulances are heading for the areas affected by today's earthquake. Emergency calls have been hindered by phone blackouts.
New collapses were reported in Mirandola, Finale Emilia and San Felice sul Panaro.
Buildings were temporarily evacuated in Milan and Bologna as a safety precaution. The earthquake was "strongly felt" in Florence, more than 60 miles away.
