Major: Murdoch's EU demand

Sir John Major has told the Leveson Inquiry that Rupert Murdoch privately warned him in 1997 to change his policy on Europe or his papers would not support him. This appears to contradict Mr Murdoch's claim that he had never tried to influence PMs.

Sir John Major has 'little recollection' of Rupert Murdoch meetings

Sir John Major has confirmed he met former Daily Telegraph owner Conrad Black six times in the seven years he was in power, while he met News Corporation's Rupert Murdoch only three times. Sir John said he had "little recollection" of his meetings with Mr Murdoch.
