David Cameron has condemned comedian Jimmy Carr's tax arrangements. The Prime Minister told ITV News that "it is not morally acceptable."
"Think of all those people who work hard and pay their tax, and out of that post-tax income save up to go and see Jimmy Carr, he's taking that money and stuffing it somewhere where he doesn't pay tax. That's not fair, that's not right."
Comedian Jimmy Carr has admitted he made a "terrible error of judgement" over his tax arrangements.
Jimmy Carr did not break the law, but he exemplifies the feeling that the rich live by different rules than the rest of us.
The Government has re-stated it will crack down on the shady world of tax avoidance. Laws to do so may now be fast-tracked.
