Lib Dem MP: 'Fuel duty u-turn ensures families are being helped'

Liberal Democrat MP Danny Alexander has told ITV News that the Government's u-turn on fuel duty increases was "the right thing to do" and that the Chancellor was "helping to ensure families and businesses are being helped by the coalition".

Fuel duty increase cancelled

The Chancellor has scrapped August's planned 3p rise in fuel duty and frozen the tax for the rest of this year. The £550m cost of the change will be paid for by departmental savings across Whitehall.
