David Cameron on call for banking inquiry: 'There's no need to make a snap judgement'

The Labour leader Ed Miliband has called for a public inquiry into the customs and practices of the banking industry.

Speaking at an event to celebrate Armed Forces Day in Plymouth, Prime Minister David Cameron said on the issue:

"We're going to consider these issues very carefully, there's no need to make a snap judgement."

Diamond 'dismayed' over claims

The former Barclays boss Bob Diamond has written to the Treasury Committee chairman saying he is "dismayed" over suggestions by members that he was "less than candid" when he gave evidence last week.
