Gary Lineker to carry Olympic torch

Gary Lineker will carry the Olympic torch through his home town Leicester today as the flame continues its journey around the country.

The 51-year-old, who played for Leicester City Football Club between 1978 and 1985 and who was born in the city, will be among the first torchbearers on Day 46 of the relay.


Olympic flame rides the Tube

The Olympic flame has taken the Tube as it continues its week-long journey through the capital. A total of 144 torchbearers, including rower James Cracknell and skier Chemmy Alcott, carried the flame 43 miles across London.
