Government unveils big boost for British aerospace
Britain's aerospace industry received a boost today as the Government unveiled a contract to build a flight simulator for the Airbus A400M and further investment in aerospace engineering degrees.
The Ministry of Defence has ordered the simulator, which will be located at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, to support its transition from C-130 Hercules jets to A400Ms.
Thales Training and Simulation in Crawley, West Sussex won the contract to build the simulator, which will help sustain 50 high-tech UK jobs and skills.
The Government also announced it a £500 million investment in 500 degree-level places in aerospace engineering over the next three years.
