Champion long-jumper: 'Strictly cost me my place' at Olympics
Champion long-jumper Jade Johnson has spoken of her Olympics heartache at missing out on a place in Team GB - because of an injury sustained on Strictly Come Dancing.
The 32-year-old injured her left knee during the popular show almost three years ago. It was treated and appeared to have healed but flared up again during training for the Games.
Johnson told the Sunday Mirror: "Strictly has cost me my place in the Olympics. I thought the show injury had healed and I was ready to compete.
"Sadly it flared up just before the trials and made it impossible to get through them."
She added: "London 2012 was my dream."
