Queen Victoria's private beach to open to the public
The private beach used by Queen Victoria will be opened to the public for the first time this summer.
In 1845 she wrote about the stretch of seafront at Osborne on the Isle of Wight saying: "We have quite a charming beach to ourselves."
It is also where she took her first swim in the sea.
