Olympic flame rides the Tube

The Olympic flame has taken the Tube as it continues its week-long journey through the capital. A total of 144 torchbearers, including rower James Cracknell and skier Chemmy Alcott, carried the flame 43 miles across London.

Former England footballer Michael Owen bought the Olympic flame to the Battersea Dogs and Cats home today, where he was honoured by 50 canine residents at the famous rescue centre.
