Olympic flame rides the Tube

The Olympic flame has taken the Tube as it continues its week-long journey through the capital. A total of 144 torchbearers, including rower James Cracknell and skier Chemmy Alcott, carried the flame 43 miles across London.

Thousands line the streets to cheer on torch bearers

Some of this morning's Olympic Torch relay runners as they carried it through south London.

It started Day 66 in Lewisham and later this afternoon it will be carried around the All England Tennis Club at Wimbledon by Venus Williams and Andy Murray.

Then tonight, the flame will be taken into the homes of millions as EastEnder Billy Mitchell carries the torch through fictional Walford, E20.
