Aidan Burley: Ceremony 'turned overtly political'

Speaking on Sky News, Tory MP Aidan Burley repeated his concerns that last night's London 2012 opening ceremony "turned into an overtly political ceremony."

"It's not just me that thinks there was a left-wing political bias," he added.

He also said there was too much emphasis on rap music, suggesting he would liked to have seen more of a role for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

Sir Paul McCartney closed the show with a rendition of Hey Jude.
