Today's central line delays caused travel chaos to Olympics

Travelling from West Ruislip to Stratford station on the central line, a journey which usually takes about an hour, took me around three hours because of the fire alert and subsequent part-suspension of the line.

Hundreds of passengers were redirected to West Ham station and walked from there.

Games tube route reopened

The Central line tube service to the Olympic Park in Stratford in east London has reopened after being suspended for three hours due to a fire alert. Trains in and out of Liverpool Street were earlier affected by signal problems.
