Sir Chris Hoy has raced onto Twitter this morning to reflect his historic status as a five-time Olympic gold medal winner.

The king of the velodrome equaled Sir Steve Redgrave's gold haul in style last night as he and the men's team sprinters set a new world record.

"Just updated my twitter bio ;-)," he tweeted.

The change may only prove temporary, though, with Sir Chris tipped to land a sixth gold when he defends his keirin title on Tuesday.
