Andy Murray said he was delighted to win Team GB's first Olympic medal in tennis since 1908. He told the BBC:

This is the biggest win of my life. I didn't expect that at the start of the week"

Murray defeats Federer

Andy Murray defeated seven-time Wimbledon champion Rodger Federer to win gold in the final of the men's Olympic singles on Sunday. It was not the Scot's only medal on the day, as he teamed up with Laura Robson to claim silver in the mixed doubles.
