Murray defeats Federer

Andy Murray defeated seven-time Wimbledon champion Rodger Federer to win gold in the final of the men's Olympic singles on Sunday. It was not the Scot's only medal on the day, as he teamed up with Laura Robson to claim silver in the mixed doubles.

Murray's first Olympic final underway

Roars, applause and sunshine greeted Andy Murray as he walked on to centre court to start his bid for double Olympic gold today.

Murray, 25, is facing Roger Federer in the men's singles final, just a month after his heartbreaking loss to the Swiss player at Wimbledon.

If Murray wins, he will be the first Briton to take men's singles gold since 1908 in London.
