How cycling gave Olympian confidence to confront Alopecia

Olympic gold medallist Joanna Rowsell has revealed how cycling has given her the confidence to confront her hair-loss disorder, alopecia areata.

Speaking to Daybreak, she said: "I've always had the opinion that you only live once. I'm not going to let it hold me back and it's been great being a cyclist, It's given me so much more confidence in myself.

"Being World Champion and now Olympic medallist you can't help but have more self-confidence and I think if I help raise awareness of the condition, that would help as well."
