The family of a Danish tourist murdered while visiting the UK have spoken of their difficulty in coming to terms with their loss as a man appeared in court in connection with his death.
Kayden Smith, 27, of Belmont Close, Hassocks, has appeared before Haywards Heath Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of Jan Jensen.
The 52-year-old tattoo artist, from Aalborg, Denmark, had been visiting the UK and had recently become friends with Smith.
He was found dead by police at a flat in Belmont Close, Hassocks, West Sussex, on Thursday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Jensen died of a stab wound to the chest.
