US: Taliban responsible for 25% of Afghan insider killings
The Afghan Local Police is a project of US General David Petraeus, the predecessor of US General John Allen, who took over the post of commander of foreign forces in Afghanistan in 2011.
Allen thinks about 25 per cent of insider killings are done by the Taliban who have infiltrated Afghan security personnel. Other insider killings are caused by other reasons, like personal dislike
The insider killings are especially worrying as security change plans build up momentum, which will mean foreign soldiers are due to leave Afghanistan by the close of 2014.
