There was a slight blow for Barack Obama's re-election hopes as a fewer than expected 96,000 jobs were created in America last month. The US President told Americans last night that the path to economic recovery may be tough.

Obama siblings speak at Democratic National Convention

Barack Obama's little sister appeared alongside Michelle Obama's big brother at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Maya Soetoro-Ng is a teacher and Craig Robinson is head coach of the Oregon State University basketball team.

"No matter how different we may seem, we share a set of values our parents gave us," said Robinson.

"Values the same in Chicago as they are in Honolulu: a willingness to work hard, a commitment to education and the responsibility to look after each other."
