A dry, clear, chilly night for most, with some mist or fog patches in England and Wales towards dawn. Cloud thickening in northern Scotland, with rain spreading across northernmost Scotland through the early hours.
Thursday:
Rain for northern and western Scotland, heavy at times, Gradually clouding over across Northern Ireland. Windy in the north. Elsewhere, largely dry and sunny after a chilly, occasionally misty start.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Friday and Saturday cloudy in the north. Dry with prolonged sunny spells further south. Turning generally more unsettled from the west on Sunday, but becoming very warm in the southeast.
