Dame Tessa Jowell has stood down from the shadow Cabinet as shadow Olympics minister because she felt it was “job done” after the Games.
Dame Tessa was instrumental in persuading Tony Blair to back London's Olympic bid.
“It’s very rare in politics to see something through from beginning to end and I’ve been able to do that with the Games.”
