The Bishop of Bangor, Andrew John, has said that what the community has been through has been almost "beyond words:"
There's a sense today that we all really rather not be here. What has been visited on this family and on this community is been on one level beyond words. But today because of where we are this is a good place for us to be together we're here for April and for her family. We're here to surround them with our love and our prayers and to let them know that we are here with them and to show them.
The Machynlleth community came together in prayer in an emotionally charged service in honour of missing April Jones.
Mark Bridger has been charged with the abduction and murder of missing 5-year-old April Jones.
