Boris Johnson gets star treatment at Tory conference

The London mayor Boris Johnson received star treatment when he made an appearance at the Tory conference in Birmingham earlier today.

Pushing his way through a sea of press photographers, he said he was there "to support the party" and politely denied taunts that he was secretly enjoying the attention.

The darling of the Conservative conference, Boris Johnson, has backed David Cameron, telling delegates he was pleased the PM called him as a "blond haired mop", because his party had to "clear things up" after Labour. He called Mr Cameron "a broom."
