Republican Mitt Romney has erased Barack Obama's advantage in the presidential race and the two candidates are now tied among likely voters, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released today.
With only four weeks until the November 6 election, the poll showed both men each command 45 per cent. Obama had been leading by two points in the last poll on Sunday.
Romney's boost in the polls comes after a strong US presidential debate performance last week.
The online survey of 1,157 likely voters was conducted between October 5 and October 9.
