Police update on search for April Jones

Superintendent Ian John of Dyfed-Powys Police has given an update on the progress of the search for April Jones. Here are the main points:

  • Coastguard is searching the River Dyfi from Borth to Towyn every day and the underwater search teams are at the estuary daily.
  • Several areas were re-checked when the focus switched from a missing person to evidence.
  • Volunteers are no longer able to assist with the search, but they are providing a catering service for search teams and donating items like gloves and batteries.
  • Police are having to "make people take time off to rest between their allocated shifts" such is their commitment.

April search switches focus

Police have said that the search of April Jones' home town of Machynlleth is almost complete. Superintendent Ian John, who is leading the search, said the focus is now turning to the village of Ceinws where suspect Mark Bridger used to live.
