A former bouncer who worked with Jimmy Savile in the late 50s and early 60s says that he heard Sir Jimmy charged over allegations of improper behaviour with young girls but that he believed the charges were withdrawn after payments were made to the to parents of the girls concerned:
Denis Lemmon told ITV News, "it was the parents probably, I'm only guessing this but he's gone down and seen the parents and bunged them few quid and that was it."
