Bookies have been left counting the cost of an odds breaking win for top jockey Richard Hughes, after he completed a 10,169/1 seven-time win at Windsor.
Ladbrokes said that one shop customer scooped a whopping £159,430.39 with a series of multiple bets on Hughes' first six winners on the card.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "It was very nearly a total wipe-out. We had some respite in the sixth when David Probert intervened but it felt like we were putting a plaster on an open wound.
"We sponsored most of the races on the Windsor card and once we've finished paying out and gritting our teeth we'll probably look back on a fantastic day for racing punters."
