Report: Theresa May could sanction change to UK extradition process

The Home Secretary Theresa May will sanction a change in the law that would make it harder to extradite people whose alleged crimes were committed in the UK, the Daily Mail reports.

The so-called 'forum bar' would give the Government more power to challenge extradition requests when "a significant part of the conduct that constitutes the alleged offence took place in the UK".

The law is already on the statute book but needs to be activated. However, since the forum ban cannot be used retrospectively, it will not apply to Gary's case.
