UN envoy: Syria crisis worsens

The crisis in Syria has deteriorated sharply, the international peace envoy for the country has said. Lakhdar Brahimi, though, said he believed a solution was still possible in 2013 under the terms of a peace plan agreed in Geneva in June.

At least 10 killed in Damascus car bombing, officials say

At least 10 people have been killed and many others wounded in the car bombing near a police station in Bab Touma in old Damascus, ITV News understands.

Syrian official sources confirmed the latest death toll. They said the bomb was placed under the vehicle and caused huge damage to the neighbourhood, which is mostly inhabited by minority Christians.
