The President of Indonesia will be welcomed to Britain by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh today. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will arrive in London with first lady Ani Bambang Yudhoyono for a three-day state visit.

Indonesian President makes state visit to UK

The President of Indonesia will be welcomed to Britain by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh today.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, 59, will arrive in London with first lady Ani Bambang Yudhoyono for a ceremonial welcome at Horse Guards Parade at the start of their three-day state visit.

They will later join the Queen and Prince Philip for a state carriage procession along the Mall to Buckingham Palace, escorted by the Sovereign's Escort.

During the afternoon Dr Yudhoyono will attend a private lunch at Buckingham Palace, where he and his wife will stay throughout their visit.

They will visit Westminster Abbey where the president will lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

That afternoon they will visit the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at their London home, Clarence House, to take tea and discuss Charles' charities.

The president will meet Prime Minister David Cameron and later receive calls at the palace from Labour leader Ed Miliband and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
