Food drops for Sandy's hardest hit in New York

The US National Guard are distributing free food and water in New York today as part of a "million meal" aid initiative launched by Andrew Cuomo, the city's Governor.

Working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the National Guards have been tasked with delivering one million meals and bottled water to people in the areas most affected by the disaster.
