Ministers from the Northern Ireland Executive and the Irish Republic's government discussed the murder of prison officer David Black today at a North South Ministerial Council meeting in Armagh.
Speaking after the meeting, Irish prime minister Taoiseach Enda Kenny said:
Yvonne Black has lost a husband, her children Kyle and Kyra have lost a father and Northern Ireland has lost a good hard-working son.
We condemn this murder unreservedly.
We do not want to see a return to this, nobody on this island wants to see a return to this.
Three men, aged 31, 29 and 44, have been arrested following the killing of prison officer David Black in Northern Ireland.
Leaders in Northern Ireland have condemned the "horrific" motorway murder of a veteran prison officer by suspected dissident republicans.
