Man withdraws underage sex claim against Elmo puppeteer
A man who accused Kevin Clash, the voice and puppeteer of the “Sesame Street” character Elmo, of having an underage relationship with him has withdrawn that claim, his lawyer has said.
The law firm representing the accuser - who has not been named - said in a statement: “he wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr Clash was an adult consensual relationship.”
The age of consent in New York is 17.
Mr Clash said through a spokesman: “I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.”
