Israel's ambassador has left Egypt after President Mohamed Mursi announced he was summoning him to discuss the Israeli attacks in Gaza and would recall Egypt's ambassador from Israel, an airport source told Reuters.
The source said:
The Israeli ambassador to Egypt left suddenly along with his embassy staff... after Egypt summoned its ambassador in Tel Aviv following the Israeli assault on Gaza enclave.
Today's bombing in Tel Aviv is reminiscent of six years ago and could mark a serious escalation in the conflict.
A truce in Gaza suits all sides but none of the groups seem interested in a long-lasting solution.
A complex system of air defences has been instrumental in protecting Israel's population from incoming rockets.
