Obama reiterates Israeli support in Gaza conflict
President Obama has reiterated his support for Israel amid the latest Gaza attacks in conversations with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, White House press secretary Jay Carney has said.
Mr Carney said acts of violence by Hamas were counter-productive if they sought to have the best interests of the Palestinian people.
Attacking Israel on a "near daily basis" does nothing to help their cause, he said.
