Seven foreign pilgrims killed in Iraq car bomb

At least seven foreign Shi'ite Muslim pilgrims were killed and 25 were wounded when a car bomb went off in the Iraqi city of Balad, police and hospital sources said.

Police said a parked car blew up near a restaurant on the outskirts of Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad.

Pilgrims from Iran and Pakistan, who were travelling back to Baghdad from the Shi'ite holy city of Samarra, were killed, police said.
